Here’s a giant photo essay from this weekend’s fourth annual Sins of Steel traditional hot rod show in Davisburg, Michigan.
One of the Detroit area’s top events for the traditional rod crowd, Sins of Steel has its roots in the original Billetproof Motor City Mayhem show first held back in 2004. Eventually this one event spun off into two, with one organization backing the annual Billetproof Michigan show (covered here at Motor City Garage) and another group taking over the original venue at the Oakland County Fairgrounds in Davisburg, Michigan. This show is known as Sins of Steel, now in its fourth year.
The rustic fairground in Davisburg makes the perfect venue for a laid-back hot rod show. Activities at Sins of Steel include a swap meet, live musical acts, minibike races, a model car show, and a big display area with plenty of strictly traditional, pre-1965 rods and customs.
Now, due to the deliberately informal flavor at Sins of Steel, there were no ID cards in the windows of the vehicles. As a result, we haven’t included owner info in the gallery below. But if you’d like to see your name here, please drop us a line.
